Florida: The Launchpad for Globally Aspiring Businesses

Daniel Robinson realized that to take his business global, Florida was the ideal base.

Located in Orlando, Enterprise Florida is at the heart of business considerations, where various factors like customer potential, talent access, local economy, and infrastructure converge. For businesses aiming to expand both domestically and internationally, Florida offers a comprehensive support system, earning its reputation as a “gateway to the world” and a prominent center for global trade.

Daniel Robinson, the founder and CEO of Red 6—an Orlando-based firm merging augmented reality (AR) and aerospace—chose to move his company from California to Florida. Factors contributing to this move included the state’s business-friendly environment, diverse economy, significant presence of complementary technologies, and substantial support from local entities like the Department of Defense and Enterprise Florida.

Red 6, initially established in California, relocated to benefit from Orlando’s thriving business climate. “Florida’s supportive environment and robust technology sector were key in choosing it for our headquarters,” Robinson remarked.

Robinson’s background as a seasoned Royal Air Force fighter pilot and the first non-American to pilot the F-22 Raptor provided him with unique insights into the challenges of military training. This experience spurred the creation of Red 6, which uses AR to enhance pilot training—addressing the high costs and logistical challenges of traditional training methods.

Florida ranks fifth in the U.S. for foreign direct investment employment, with its attractive business climate and continuous growth drawing international companies. Through Enterprise Florida, businesses like Red 6 enjoy resources like funding access, trade assistance, and operational guidance—from export diversification programs to regulatory advice.
